BBAC to Gov. Spitzer: Replace HRBRRD's Board
The next meeting of the Hudson River-Black River Regulating District's board will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008 at Town Hall, Town of Indian Lake, Pelon Road, Indian Lake, NY.
The HRBRRD Board has voted to send its proposed rules for access permit holders to the Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform for review. If GORR approves them, they will be published in the State Register, followed by a 45-day public comment period.
The District has continued to ignore many of the public's recommendations. To prepare yourself for the public input period, go to http://www.hrbrrd.com/proposedrules.html, where you will find links to two documents. The first, 57 pages long, contains the complete package of rules submitted to GORR; the second, 15 pages long, contains only those rules changed since June 18, when the prior draft was released to us.
In addition, the District has posted answers to questions about the permit system: http://www.hrbrrd.com/psqanda2007.pdf. You can pick up copies of all three documents at the District's Mayfield and Albany offices.

Batchellerville Bridge Replacement Project
The NYS Department of Transportation has made a final decision on its Preferred Alternative. This alternative proposes to construct a new bridge to the south of the existing bridge. It will have a vertical navigational clearance at center span of 42 feet. The new bridge will have two 11-foot-wide travel lanes, two 5-foot-wide shoulders, and a raised 5-foot-wide sidewalk with curb on the north side.
